P.J. co. wrote In My Dreams that Rick Nelson used
on his 1964 Album Spotlight On Rick. It's a great song but I have heard P.J.'s demoversion and it's far better than Ricks more laidback release.
One of the co writers was Elvis Presley's former girlfriend
Dotty Harmony  !

I really good version of Stand Tall - The O'Jays.
This is so near P.J.'s voice that one think it is
the man himself who is singing
Same co. writers as In My Dreams.

Smith - Tenen - Fayne - Harmony.

Dick Lory (Dick Glasser) who produced some of P.J.'s early
Liberty recordings did a wonderful version of "Handsome Guy"

Colin Cook from Australia did " Hansome Guy " probably
after hearing Dick Lorys great version.
( it was a hit for Lory in Australia )
Still Dick Lorys version is the best !

Steve Monahan , American ? singer who obvioudsly liked
the Proby penned song.

Antoni Williams probably from New Zealand.
I guess that even he listened to Dick Lorys hit record.

Johnny Burnette reached   #  35   in the U.K. charts -62 with "Clown Shoes".

Here's the U.K.and the U.S release

British Don Lang did " Wicked Woman"

and Leroy VanDyke ( remember Just Walk On By ) did
" The Life You Offered Me " .

Two copies of Gordon Terrys Liberty release of " In A Moment" .

Ribbons went   # 83   in the U.S. Charts with " Ain't Gonna Kiss Ya "

Suzie Clark , for me an unknown femael singer.
She is doing a fine version of "Ain't Gonna Kiss Ya" !

Collaboration between dutch groups Telstars ( vocals ) and Rene' And His Alligators ( instrumentals ) resulted in one Proby penned song on Fontana label

Spanish release of Searcers "Ain't Gonna Kiss Ya"   E.P.

             # 1

Searchers topped the U.K. E.P. charts in
-63 with "Ain't gonna kiss ya"

Swedish group from Stockholm have
" Ain't Gonna Kiss Ya" as flip on their
second and last 45 from -66.
To me an unknown U.K.female
singer who was at the Piccadilly label .
Anyway , she did a fine version of
"Ain't Gonna Kiss Ya"

This is a weird one . Dora Hall an older lady
who on this LP sung teenage songs !

A signed copy of Pleaser 45 "Ain't Gonna Kiss You".
A very nice version of the song !

1.   What's The World Needs Now Is Love
2.   Take Me Away
3.    Summertime
4.    Am I Making It Hard On You
5.    Go On Your Way
6.    After Last Night

7.    A Lifetime Of Lonlieness
8.    Take Me Tonight
9.    Hellos And Goodbyes
10.   I'm Gonna Be Strong
11.   Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying
12.   I Remember The Boy

P.J. recorded a few songs written by Jackie DeShannon but here we have a P.J. penned song "After Last Night" on Jackie's
"This Is Jackie DeShannon" -65 Imperial LP

The Rev - Lons and The Ribbons were probably the same group

mg

Same versions all the three. Original released in -63 as Dalton Brothers ( Scott Engel and John Stewart ) . Later on
in -66 released as the "Original members of Walker Brothers" ( well , it was only Scott , John Stewart never was in Walker Brothers) surfing the wave of the Walker Bros. sucsess. In Japan it was released as a Scott Engel 45.

Jerry Fuller is a singer/songwriter who has written many
songs for artistes like Ricky Nelson , Union Gap ,
Walker Brothers and many many others. "Travelling Man" ,
" Young Girl " , " Lady Willpower " to name a few.

The Starlings chared this Embassy 45 with another artist called Ray Pilgrim on the other side

Picture sleeve of the Pat Powdrill 45

Pat Powdrill here with a Jack Nitzche arranged and conducted
fine version of " I Only Came To Dance With You"

Dutch female duo singing "I Only Came To Dance With You"

Artone was the label and the year was 1965
Also take a look at sheetmusic section.

" Ain't Gonna Kiss Ya " in the 80-ies . Decoy single from -85 with a disco dancebeat rhythm. I can tell you that it works. The song ends up with a meaty sound of a kiss ! Great version with a funny end.

Jean Martin with a strong voiced version of " Ain't Gonna Kiss Ya"

# 1

Bernd Spier peaked the top of the German single charts 13 - 03 -65 with

              "Das War Mein Shönster Tanz"

"I Only Came To Dance With You"    sung in German !!
Both German and English versions exists on a Bernd Spier Cd called "Ohne Ein Bestimmtes Zeil"

Canadian release of Bernd Spier's versin of " T Only Came To Dance With You "

Sonny and Sean   Irish duo   did
" I Only Came To Dance With You " in -66

In my opinion , maybe the best version of this song.
John L Watson and the Hummelflugs !

Female Country singer Katy Moffat did a great version of P.J.'s "In A Moment" . It's a track on her CD "Child Bride" from -90

AFTER LAST NIGHT
on CD

For those who wants to hear "After Last Night" there's a chance to obtain a Jackie DeShannon CD ( -98 ) called "The Early Years".
The Pixie Girls CD was released in 1990 and will be a little bit harder to get. It contains two versions of "After Last Night" . One by Chiffons and one by Rev-Lons.
A strange thing is that Chiffons version has totally different lyrics than Jackie DeShannons and Rev-Lons versions !!??
